The ASUTA team in Katavi recently held an insightful follow-up meeting and feedback session aimed at evaluating the progress of the work plan implementation with Local Government Authorities (LGAs).
This gathering was a key part of the USAID AFYA YANGU — RMNCAH project, which focuses on improving reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health across communities. The primary goal of this meeting was to assess the outcomes of the community scorecard initiative — a vital tool that allows stakeholders to gauge the effectiveness of health interventions at the community level.
“Collaboration is the cornerstone of our efforts. By working closely with our local partners, we can identify challenges and innovate solutions that truly make a difference in the health of our communities.”

During the session, the ASUTA team encouraged open dialogue, inviting LGAs to share their thoughts on the strategies and interventions outlined in the project. This collaborative approach not only fostered transparency but also provided a platform for identifying challenges and sharing best practices.
The insights gathered are instrumental in shaping future actions, ensuring that the project remains aligned with the needs of the communities it serves. By engaging LGAs, ASUTA aims to enhance collaboration and strengthen partnerships that are crucial for the success of the USAID Afya Yangu — RMNCAH project.
Looking ahead: paving the way for a healthier future
The discussions held during this meeting are a testament to ASUTA's dedication to creating sustainable improvements in health. By leveraging the collective expertise of LGAs and other stakeholders, ASUTA is paving the way for a healthier future for reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health in the region.
ASUTA is deeply committed to the objectives of the Afya Yangu project and recognises the importance of stakeholder input in achieving meaningful outcomes. Through ongoing feedback sessions like this one, the organisation strives to improve the quality of healthcare services and contribute to the overall well-being of the communities it serves.
