Recruitment principle
Peer educators were drawn from the FSW, IDU and barmaid populations themselves. The training was deliberately experiential — role play, hotspot walk-throughs, and three days of supervised outreach before sign-off.

First-quarter coverage
Within ninety days, the peers reached 256 sex workers, barmaids and migrants with combination prevention sessions across 14 Bagamoyo hotspots.
