Reducing new HIV infections in Lindi
EpiC supports and enhances Government of Tanzania initiatives focused on reducing new HIV infections among Key and Vulnerable Populations (KVPs), and breaking through persistent barriers to achieving the 95-95-95 goals among priority populations — while promoting self-reliant management of national HIV programmes.
The project works collaboratively with Municipal Councils, Local Government Authorities, peer educators, healthcare providers, KVP forums, facility partners, gender desk officers and other implementing partners to create a comprehensive response to the HIV epidemic in Lindi region.
ASUTA's Role
ASUTA is committed to supporting government efforts towards achieving the 95-95-95 goals and is actively engaged in initiatives that improve HIV/AIDS outcomes across Lindi region. We strengthen Violence Prevention and Response (VPR) services by integrating the community VPR team into existing government structures including the Village, Ward and Council Multisectoral AIDS Committees (VMAC, WMAC, CMAC).
