The point of the meeting
The Visible Performance Review (VPR) is EpiC's structured quarterly forum where council teams, ASUTA staff, FHI360 technical leads and the RHMT review programme indicators against targets, agree on corrective actions, and assign accountability for the next quarter.
Four VPR cycles were held in 2022, each with full council attendance. Ninety-six stakeholders participated across the year, including DACCs, RCH coordinators, lab supervisors, social welfare officers and KVP peer representatives.
What VPR actually changes
Eighteen council-level action items were opened and closed during the year, ranging from commodity rebalancing between high- and low-performing facilities to the renegotiation of mobile-outreach calendars with specific facility in-charges.
Two systemic adjustments came out of VPR data: the introduction of a same-day index testing offer for all newly diagnosed clients, and a switch from monthly to two-weekly peer micro-targets to smooth the reach curve.
Why the format works
VPR works because it is structured, time-bound and public. Every indicator has a named owner, every gap has a named action, and every action has a named deadline. The format does not invent any new authority — it simply makes existing accountability legible.
Visible Performance Review meetings convert dashboards into decisions and decisions into adjustments.
