Our commitment to a healthy and sustainable environment through collaborative conservation efforts.
We recognize the critical importance of a safe, healthy and sustainable environment in realizing our long-term vision. With growing environmental threats at global, regional and national levels, we approach conservation not as an option, but as a core responsibility.
Sustainable environmental practices are only possible through collaboration. We work hand-in-hand with communities, government institutions, civil society and international partners — exchanging knowledge, building capacity and driving practical solutions that restore and safeguard our environment.
Any effort that empowers communities to conserve and revitalize their environment, whether through education, funding, infrastructure or technology, must be embraced. ASUTA has integrated Environmental Conservation as a stand-alone strategic component of our long-term organizational strategy.
Our marine portfolio centres on one umbrella programme — Heshimu Bahari — which ASUTA delivered in three components, awarded sequentially: first BES Northern, then BES Southern, and finally Community Based Activities. Bahari Yetu is the new flagship that succeeds and builds on those three components.
ASUTA's flagship marine programme advancing community stewardship, blue livelihoods and resilient coastal ecosystems across Tanzania's Indian Ocean shoreline.
